KNOW THE FACTS - TONY’S STORY

In late 2019 Know the Facts Indiana reached out to our team to help tell stories aimed at creating empathy for those living and struggling with substance abuse disorder. After filming several interviews of people living in recovery we hit a bit of a snag - COVID-19. The plans to film b-roll to fill out these stories became impractical. This challenge forced our team to imagine new ways to finish this important storytelling. We sourced illustrators and animators from around Indiana to finish bringing these stories to life. Ultimately the end product did things we couldn’t have with traditional filming. Depicting the past became possible through illustration and animation. We chose to use a different artist for each story, allowing us to even further frame the unique personalities of our talent. It was a big honor to be given the trust to bring these stories to life. The first round of videos included Tony’s Story which ended up winning an Emmy®.
